This Mahal antique rug measures 257 x 373 cm and offers a layered palette of blue, coral, cream, white, and neutral tones. The field is filled with an allover floral design, bordered by a detailed frame of repeating motifs and compact decorative accents. Its softened pattern and gently worn surface give the rug a quiet, atmospheric presence, with medium distress visible across the field and border. Woven in wool, it has the mellowed character of age without losing its structure. Circa 1880 - 1900, it shows the depth and restraint associated with a classic Mahal.
