This Mahal antique rug measures 244 x 348 cm and has the quietly layered presence of a deeply worn field piece. Woven in wool, it combines ivory, cream, faded blue, muted rust, and taupe across an allover floral lattice, held within a fine border and softened corner work. The design is still readable, though the high distress has opened the surface and given it a washed, patinated character. Circa 1900 - 1915, it speaks to the more understated side of Mahal weaving, where ornament and fade settle into a calm, tactile composition.
