This Mahal antique rug measures 330 x 498 cm and carries the calm, weathered presence of a well-aged floral composition. Neutrals sit beneath muted green, blue, and softened rust tones, allowing the allover pattern to emerge in layers rather than sharp outlines. The field is filled with scrolling botanical motifs, held by a slender border that subtly contains the design without interrupting its openness. Woven in wool, the rug shows medium distress, with fading and worn character that enrich its surface. Circa 1925 - 1955. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
