This Hamadan antique rug measures 267 x 366 cm and is woven in wool with a gently timeworn surface. The blue-grey field is richly worked with fine floral repeats, scrolling vine movement, and compact medallion motifs, all enclosed by a warm border of palmettes and small blossom forms. Ivory, sand, taupe, and soft brown accents sit against the muted ground, creating a composition that feels both dense and measured. Light fading and age-softened wear calm the palette and soften the outline. Circa 1900 - 1925, it reflects the disciplined patterning and atmospheric patina associated with a classic Hamadan.
