This Heriz antique rug in wool measures 234 x 315 cm and shows the assertive geometry that defines the type. A warm red field is layered with indigo, ivory, olive and brown, set around repeating medallions, angular blossoms and finely worked lattice-like details. The border is darker and more compressed, bringing structure to the looser interior composition. Low distress is paired with clear fading and visible abrashed variation, which softens the pattern and lends the surface depth. Circa 1900 - 1915. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
