This Bijar antique rug measures 99 x 124 cm and shows a layered, well-balanced design in brick red, brown, indigo, cream, and muted blue-green. A dark central field is filled with compact floral and geometric motifs, enclosed by multiple borders that alternate angular vines, rosettes, and small repeating forms. Woven in wool, it has the sturdy presence expected of the category, softened here by gentle wear and a settled patina. Circa 1920 - 1940, the overall effect is richly aged yet composed, with colour depth and pattern clarity still carrying through the surface.
