This Mahal antique rug measures 221 x 330 cm and presents a layered, timeworn surface with notable depth. Faded sky blue sits alongside terracotta, rust, sand, taupe, and charcoal, giving the central diamond medallion and stepped floral geometry a muted clarity. The border is still readable, with repeating motifs that frame the field in a measured sequence. Medium distress has gently reduced the contrast and left an atmospheric, worn finish across the wool. Circa 1915 - 1930, it reads as a heritage piece with softened colour and enduring structure. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
