This Ghiordes antique rug measures 135 x 157 cm and carries a prayer-format composition with a broad open field, layered borders, and finely handled floral and geometric ornament. The colour palette reads as ivory and sand, with faded gold, muted terracotta, dusty rose, charcoal, and soft blue woven through the borders. A small niche motif anchors the lower field, while repeating octagonal forms and angular tracery lend rhythm around the edges. Circa 1880 - 1895, the wool surface shows medium wear, softened colour, and a gently timeworn presence that underscores its age.
