This Mahal antique rug measures 272 x 358 cm and shows a softly distressed all-over floral composition in coral red, navy, teal, ivory, and sage with soft grey fading throughout. The field is richly patterned yet gently washed, allowing the scrolling motifs and medallion-like forms to read with ease beneath its aged surface. A deep border frames the design with clarity, adding balance to the faded centre. Woven in wool, it has the grounded character and low distress of a piece that has lived well. Circa 1925 - 1945, it carries a quiet, heritage-led presence.
