This Mahal antique rug measures 384 x 584 cm and has the weathered presence of a textile shaped by decades of use. Woven in wool, it blends faded ivory with muted rust, washed blue-grey, taupe, and soft rose tones, creating a hushed, layered palette across the field and border. The floral framework is still visible, though softened by high distress, with abrash and broad wear lending the surface a faded, almost archival quality. Circa 1920 - 1940, it captures the restrained character and depth associated with an aged Mahal. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
