This Ghiordes antique rug measures 122 x 193 cm and combines ivory, brick red, sage green, muted rose, and gold in a structure that is crisp yet gently aged. The composition centres on a hooked medallion, framed by stepped reserves, floral panels, and a patterned border that gives the whole surface a measured cadence. Woven in wool, it shows low distress, with softened colour and light fringe wear that speak to time rather than alteration. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reflects the distinctive balance of ornament and restraint associated with Ghiordes weaving.
