This Ghiordes antique rug measures 86 x 152 cm and shows a prayer-form layout with a calm, time-softened character. The cream field is filled with small red heart-like repeats, enclosed by a pointed mihrab in saturated red and a sequence of borders in rust, gold, white, and coral. The wool surface has a low, even wear that gives the rug a dry, tactile presence, with gentle fading across the ornament. Circa 1880 - 1910, it reflects the disciplined symmetry and decorative layering often found in Ghiordes weaving, while remaining quietly expressive and rooted in heritage.
