This Ghiordes antique rug measures 97 x 163 cm and shows a softly worn prayer-form layout with a stepped arch, a slender tree-like central motif, and layered borders worked with small geometric floral forms. Wool in brown, cream, white, muted blue, and pale green gives the surface a warm, weathered palette, while medium distress has softened the drawing across the field. The border remains more legible than the centre, adding rhythm and contrast to the faded ground. Circa 1890 - 1905, it offers the grounded patina and quiet irregularities of a heritage textile shaped by age.
