This Ghiordes antique rug measures 229 x 404 cm and presents a timeworn palette of red, blush, ivory, and neutral accents, with hints of teal and gold in the ornament. The composition is anchored by a faded central medallion, softened corner spandrels, and a finely drawn border that still traces the original structure through the wear. The wool surface shows clear abrash, fading, and areas of flattened pile, giving the piece a supple, lived-in texture. Circa 1885 - 1900, it has the quiet depth and patina of a rug shaped by age rather than restoration.
