This Ghiordes antique rug measures 117 x 190 cm and is worked in wool with a rich rose field, balanced by ivory, muted sage, plum, and charcoal details. The design opens through an arch-like central frame, then resolves into floral sprays, a decorative border, and a small lower niche motif, creating a composition that feels ordered yet expressive. Medium distress is visible in the softened colour, scattered wear, and gently irregular edges, all of which lend depth to the surface. Circa 1885 - 1900, it reflects the enduring character of Ghiordes weaving.
