This Ghiordes antique rug measures 91 x 221 cm and presents a refined, layered composition with a distinctly time-softened presence. A deep rose centre is surrounded by floral and geometric panels in cream, muted sage, pale gold, and dusty teal, while the stepped medallion lends structure to the long format. Multiple borders, including a lively outer band, keep the design grounded and visually balanced. Woven in wool, it retains low distress and a mellowed surface with graceful wear at the edges. Circa 1850 - 1870. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
