This Agra antique rug shows a dense allover field of floral latticework in red, brown, ivory and muted green, enclosed by multiple slender borders. The pattern remains finely ordered, while age has softened the contrast and brought a mellow, tactile quality to the surface. Woven in wool, it has a grounded palette with a quietly layered presence. Measuring 442 x 442 cm, the square form lends symmetry to the repeating composition. Circa 1895 - 1925, it captures the refined character of the Agra tradition with warmth, detail and gentle wear.
