An expansive Yazd in wool fibre, this antique rug presents a softened palette of navy, powder blue and warm neutrals. The pattern is an all-over sequence of medallions, palmettes and scrolling floral arabesques, held by a narrow, ornate border. Visible abrash and moderate wear have mellowed the pile and produced a layered, tactile patina that speaks to long use. The woven field reads with restrained ornament and subtle colour depth. Measurements: 427 x 772 cm. Circa 1900 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
