A study in indigo and ecru, this Kurd runner measures 122 x 366 cm and carries a composed, geometric vocabulary. A chain of stepped lozenges and serrated medallions punctuates the central field, contained by narrow guard borders in deeper blue. The wool fibre has softened with age; visible abrash and even wear temper the palette and reveal the rug’s layered surface. Medium distress gives it a lived-in tactility while the formal arrangement remains clear. An antique rug that reads both architectural and timeworn, quietly asserting its craft and material history.
