This wool Mahal presents an expansive floral ground rendered in subdued neutral, brown and red tones, its pattern softened by long wear. The repeating floral border remains legible while the central field shows pronounced fading, abrash and a few patched losses that emphasise the rug’s age and touchable surface. The overall effect is one of restrained complexity, where palmettes and scrolling vine work appear like a drawing beneath a veil.
