A tactile Hook runner in wool fibre, 102 x 213 cm, with a warm cream ground punctuated by a repeating floral lattice and a composed palette of indigo, navy and mustard. Palmettes and scrolling vine motifs arrange in a restrained axial repeat, held by a narrow indigo border that displays subtle abrash and softened colour from prolonged wear. The pile is low and compact; the edges show fraying and partial fringe loss, honest marks of use and craft. This antique rug reads as an intimate study of pattern and texture, its modest scale revealing careful composition and craft. Circa 1875 - 1890
