This Mahal presents a restrained ivory field punctuated by green and coral palmettes, woven in wool with a measured, allover floral lattice. The narrow geometric borders contain the pattern with considered proportion while the field maintains a soft, low-distress nap and slight abrash that lends depth to the colour. The piece reads as an antique rug with a tactile surface and composed graphic rhythm, its palette refined and quietly lived-in. Circa 1915 - 1930. Size: 142 x 208 cm.
