A Mahal woven in wool, the field composed of repeated palmettes and cartouches in muted red and warm brown, set against a neutral ground. A multi-strand floral border contains an all-over scrolling vine, the motifs mellowed by softened pile and surface wear to create a patinated colour range. The finish reads tactile and low, with visible abrash and medium distress that lend the piece a layered, antique rug character. Circa 1915 - 1930. Exact measurement 330 x 404 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
