A large Heriz woven in wool, composed around a procession of octagonal medallions and angular floral motifs. The surface shows generous wearing and abrash, the terracotta ground softened to muted tones with sage and teal highlights. The borders hold a tight geometric register, now read through a veil of faded colour and low pile; the overall texture is dry and tactile, with visible surface loss that accentuates the design’s graphic lines. This antique rug feels like a studied, timeworn textile with a strong presence. Circa 1925 - 1940. Size: 351 x 422 cm.
