A narrow Hamadan runner rendered in a muted palette of cream, ivory and warm brown, this antique rug presents a vertical sequence of geometric medallions within stepped borders. Wear is even and considered; abrash and faded fields lend a soft patina and a tactile, low pile surface. At 81 x 287 cm the proportions accentuate the medallion rhythm and the crispness of border motifs, which read with clarity despite medium distress. Circa 1910 - 1955, the composition feels like a well-worn study in restraint where colour and pattern mark time and craft.
