Warm gold tones and a faded pink coral border define this Ghiordes, where large stylised palmettes and floral sprays articulate a broad neutral ground. The wool shows medium distress and even abrash, softening motifs and lending a worn, tactile surface that emphasises heritage craft rather than ornament. The border motifs remain legible but mellowed, the whole piece reading as an antique rug with calm, layered colour. Circa 1885 - 1900. Exact size: 320 x 518 cm.
