A long Mahal in wool, finely drawn with an overall floral arabesque in a muted colour palette. Cream and white highlights soften warm brown tones and neutrals, the dense palmette field repeated along the full length and contained within narrow floral borders. The surface shows even abrash and medium wear, giving the piece a quiet patina and a softened handle. This antique rug presents as layered with age and craft, an object of material memory and calm subtle geometry. Circa 1885 - 1900. Size: 178 x 589 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
