This antique rug, a Heriz runner in wool, measures 91 x 447 cm. The narrow field repeats angular floral medallions and stylised palmettes within a restrained lattice, framed by narrow floral guard borders. The red ground has mellowed to warm neutral tones, lifted by cream highlights; distress is low and the surface shows subtle abrash and gentle pile wear. Circa 1900 - 1920. The piece reads as a softened heirloom, where regional patterning and handwork give the composition a quiet, tactile presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
