This Agra antique rug offers a muted, neutral ground in wool softened by decades of even wear. Measuring 267 x 292 cm, its dense floral repeat and angular stepped corners are set inside multiple borders of hexagonal cartouches and scrolling palmettes. The piece shows medium distress with visible abrash and softened contrasts, the wool developing a low lustre and tactile, time-smoothed nap. Colours read as washed wine, warm beige and faded olive, unifying the field and border into a cohesive patina. Border motifs remain clear though edges show gentle wear, a quiet statement of use and craft. Circa 1880 - 1900
