This Kurd wool runner is an antique rug defined by a narrow, richly patterned field and a warm red floral border framed by cream guards. The small, repeating motifs create a patient, allover rhythm across the long format, while the palette of neutral, red and white reads with restrained intensity. Wear is low and even; subtle abrash and slight centre fading lend a lived-in depth without obscuring the design. The borders remain well defined and the ends show gentle wear. Circa 1900 - 1915.
