This Gharajeh in wool, with a deep red field, navy outer border and gold highlights, is an antique rug measuring 140 x 193 cm. A strong central medallion and nested lozenge forms are surrounded by serrated geometric motifs and angular floral lozenges in a wide dark guard border. Low wear retains a tactile surface and a mellow patina, while subtle abrash and consistent dye tone speak to measured use. The composition feels architectural and materially direct, reflecting regional design language with restrained colour harmonies and graphic clarity. Circa 1895 - 1910
