This Mahal runner, 188 x 386 cm, is woven in wool and reads as a refined all-over floral lattice in neutral and cream tones. The composition pairs small palmettes and scrolling motifs with layered borders that hold gentle abrash and surface ageing. Medium distress has softened high points and warmed the ground to a honeyed cream, giving the piece a tactile, timeworn surface and restrained colour depth. The result is an antique rug of considered proportion and layered detail, quiet in scale yet rich in heritage. Circa 1900 - 1920.
