This Bijar displays a jewel-like central medallion within a compact floral garden, worked in wool with warm red, navy and gold tones balanced by neutral ivory highlights. Teal corner spandrels and a narrow rosette border frame the busy field, where tiny floral motifs create a lace-like density. Low wear preserves the pattern and gives a soft, time-mellowed pile; subtle abrash adds layered colour depth across the field. An antique rug with a strong medallion composition and tactile presence, it measures 231 x 368 cm and rewards close inspection. Circa 1900 - 1915
