An Agra woven in wool with a muted, ivory ground and a delicate all-over floral arabesque. The borders carry small rosette cartouches and scrolling palmettes that have softened with time, the pattern reading like an aged watercolour. Selective abrasion and abrash reveal warm rose and gold notes beneath a pale surface, a characteristic patina of use rather than damage. This antique rug measures 178 x 267 cm and presents medium wear with stable edges and a softened pile profile. Circa 1900 - 1920, the work is quietly composed, tactile and quietly heirloom in character.
