The pile displays low, even wear and gentle abrash that unifies the surface without obscuring the design; borders and edges remain cared for. The tactile wool and layered motifs convey the vocabulary of traditional makers, with a quiet, aged intensity that reads in both colour and line. Circa 1890 - 1910.
