This Mahal presents a quietly refined composition in washed blue and cream, woven in wool and matured to an antique rug with a soft patina. A central medallion and scrolling palmettes sit within a generous floral border, the pattern mellowed by even abrasion and subtle abrash. The surface reads as layered and tactile, the neutral accents lending depth to the faded blue field. Measuring 267 x 363 cm, the piece shows medium distress and softened pile consistent with frequent use and careful age. Circa 1900 - 1920, it retains a considered architectural presence despite its worn character.
