This substantial Ghiordes displays a saturated red field filled with repeating floral medallions, set within a broad cream and neutral botanical border. Woven in wool, the pile remains soft with modest abrash that enlivens the red with warm tonal shifts. Condition is low distress with well preserved borders and slight edge irregularity, allowing the pattern to read clearly across the surface. Measuring 536 x 625 cm, the piece reads as a considered antique rug, eloquent in scale, texture and colour balance. Circa 1890 - 1905 The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
