An Agra in wool fibre, restrained in colour and generous in scale, the piece reads as an object of craft and time. A pronounced central medallion sits within scalloped corner spandrels and a field of small floral sprays, while a sequence of guarded borders contains the design. The gold field is softened by even fading and abrash; the pile is softened with medium wear that reveals woven gesture and age. This antique rug measures 457 x 602 cm and retains a calm, tactile presence refined by time. Circa 1880 - 1900
