An Agra with an ivory field, this wool piece displays an all-over floral lattice of small palmettes and flowering vines set against a cream ground and muted, faded-rose borders. The wide border and successive guard bands show restrained detail and abrash, the colours softened by age into a tonal, neutral palette. The wool fibre sits low and tactile, with medium wear and scattered areas of surface loss that articulate its history and handling. Read as an archival textile, this antique rug is at once design-literate and weathered by time. Circa 1925 - 1940. Measurements: 307 x 401 cm.
