A substantial Bijar with a prominent red medallion set into an ivory inner field and a tightly worked floral arabesque. Wool fibre has mellowed to a soft, tactile handle; brown and muted green accents emerge beneath even fading and characteristic abrash. The palmette border and stepped spandrels frame the worn centre with a measured, antique presence. At 343 x 495 cm the piece shows medium distress and careful historic repairs, its surface reading like a layered textile history. This antique rug feels restrained yet composed, with a quietly patinated colour range. Circa 1885 - 1905
