A Yazd in wool fibre, this antique rug reads as a study in subtle ageing and refined ornament. A muted neutral field is warmed by brown and cream palmettes and sinuous arabesque vines, contained by layered guard borders. At 366 x 681 cm the composition feels measured and expansive; medium distress and even abrash have softened high points, creating a satin-like surface and muted colour transitions. Margins show gentle wear that complements the overall patina, preserving the floral vocabulary while expressing time-worn character. Circa 1905 - 1925. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
