This Agra sits in a restrained neutral spectrum , cream field softened by muted terracotta and warm taupe worked in wool fibre. Measuring 366 x 526 cm the composition is an all-over of scrolling palmettes and floral sprays framed by a broad palmette and urn border, its detailing mellowed by even wear and gentle abrash. Pattern edges have softened with time, giving the surface a calm, textural quality and refined linearity. Circa 1900 - 1915, this antique rug reads as a heritage piece, where soft colour and worn pile reveal craft and age.
