A large Mahal with the worn, tactile presence of an object shaped by time. Intricate floral arabesques and cartouche motifs remain readable beneath a bleached, low-contrast field; borders are softened to near-vanishing edges. The wool shows heavy abrash and patched threadbare areas that emphasise texture and age. This antique rug, sized 422 x 709 cm, carries a restrained palette of cream, neutral and warm brown with traces of muted blue and soft red. Circa 1880 - 1900. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time. Subtle tonal variation keeps the drawing legible and grounded.
