A restrained Agra measuring 305 x 747 cm, worked in cream and warm taupe that have mellowed to a soft neutral ground. The wool fibre shows even abrash and medium wear, the allover floral arabesque and small rosettes reading as a subtle, textured field. Narrow cream guard borders remain discernible though softly faded, lending a calm frame to the long format. Circa 1920 - 1935, this antique rug presents the patina of extended use; its muted colour range and delicate motifing reflect an early twentieth century Agra hand gently softened by time.
