An Agra of generous scale, rendered in a deep red ground punctuated by cream medallion work, gold highlights and an abundant floral spray. Vases and stylised animals settle into a measured symmetry that gives the piece a museumlike dignity. The wool pile shows low wear with gentle abrash, allowing colour transitions and handwoven texture to remain tactile. The wide foliate border provides a dark counterpoint to the luminous centre. This antique rug measures 531 x 610 cm and shows the patient ageing of natural dyes and wool fibre. Circa 1880 - 1900.
