An Agra in wool, this antique rug balances a restrained neutral ground with red and gold accents across a mihrab prayer niche and dense tree-of-life repeat. A compact jardiniere motif anchors the centre, framed by floral vine borders and calligraphic cartouches that give the composition a manuscript-like rhythm. Low distress retains a tactile, clothlike pile and gentle colour variation that reads as soft abrash. The piece feels both intimate and formally composed, an object of skilful handwork and age. Circa 1900 - 1915. Size: 122 x 180 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
