An understated Agra with a measured, allover boteh repeat and layered floral borders, its faded red and brown colour held on a warm neutral ground. The wool pile shows medium wear and a soft patina; abrash and even fading lend the motifs a gentle, historic depth. The composition retains clarity beneath the attenuation of time, the borders framing the field with delicate arabesque lines. This antique rug reads as calm and tactile, a piece with considered presence. Circa 1880 - 1900. Exact size: 310 x 533 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
