A considered Yazd in muted neutral, brown and gold tones, composed as a panelled grid of square medallions and palmettes with a richly detailed outer border. The wool fibre has softened with age and shows even abrash and moderate surface wear that gives the pattern a quiet, timeworn presence. The repeat cartouches and palm motifs remain legible beneath layers of fade and handling, speaking to traditional design and slow use. This antique rug balances pattern and restraint, its worn surface articulating craft through colour and texture. Circa 1925 - 1940. Measurements: 442 x 678 cm.
