This Mahal Ziegler in wool presents a central cloudband medallion articulated by floral palmettes and scrolling arabesques on a deep red ground. Indigo and neutral guard borders articulate a layered field of small-scale floral registers, while gilt and brown accents enliven the motif. Low wear preserves the soft pile and the drawing, with subtle abrash lending a considered, tactile patina to the surface. It reads as an antique rug with measured presence and restrained decorative rhythm, evident in both tone and weave. Circa 1890 - 1910. Measures 198 x 262 cm.
